Should be treated: Status migrainosus and pregnancy is an awful mix but it does occur & often in the 1st trimester. It must treated aggressively to prevent complications for both mother and baby, however, triptans & ergots should be AVOIDED. Agressive IV hydration & corticosteroids +/- other agents such as narcotics, Tylenol (acetaminophen) +/- codeine. Other drugs such as nonsteroidals should be used cautiously.
