Getting closer!: If you are already so close to delivery and you were just recently diagnosed with diabetes mellitus you have little to do. Your baby is at risk of being large for gestational age and you may have an increased risk for cesarean section - talk to your obstetrician for details. At least eight hours of fasting are required overnight so that the morning blood sugar is interpretable.
