Are shingles caused by stress?

I don't think so.: I don't think we know what precipitates " shingles". But for all adults after age 50, i recommend the shingles vaccine ( zostavax), to protect yourself. Most insurances cover it, but even if they don't its worth to invest $ 200.00 having a shot.

Shingles: Shingles is caused by the varicella zoster virus. Although stress does not cause a Shingles outbreak, prolonged, marked stress could weaken the immune system & increase the odds. https://www.everydayhealth.com/shingles/stress-management.aspx
