Ran out of alcohol what's another way to help get a newborns ambilicoil cord off? without hurting him or buying more alcohol?

Seebelow: You do not need to use alcohol. The cord will fall off without it. Just a daily sponge bath until cord falls off. Also, belly time during the day will put friction on the cord to aid its separation.

Just keep it clean: There are many culturally different ways to handle the cord stump. They vary around the world from applying breast milk, to antibiotic ointment to alcohol and more. All studies have been compared and none seem to show much difference in outcome. Simple cleanliness and allowing it to dry works fine. The alcohol seems to accelerate drying, but can be omitted.
