One tsp-with caveats: Provided your child has no underlying medical issues, provided that you truly choose children's (not infant's), provided he is not taking any other otc cough or cold products that might have either Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen in it--then the proper dosing could be as much as one teaspoon of advil susp or tylenol (acetaminophen) susp. Beware there are daily limits & advil should be dosed @6 hours; tylenol (acetaminophen) @ 4 hrs.

More important than: M ore important than how much tylenol (acetaminophen) to use is to find out what is causing the fever? What does the child look like? Is he or she drinking and urinating fine? Alertor lethargic? In other words call your md first.Fever is not an illness is a symptom, and usually a friend not a foe. Your doctor might recommend 10-15 mg/kg or 5-7mg /pound of weight every 4-6hrs.
