Back Pain: Any more back pain and acute pain are not often well treated in the er. You need a good health care provider that you trust. In the meantime sitting in a shower and letting the hot water massage your muscles or getting a heating pad may help. Gentle stretching is good. Massage is good. I often also have my patients use alleve or Ibuprofen over tyenol.

ER useless re back: As a back patient & dr who specializes in treatment of back pain, i can tell you er is not where you go to get help for it.Could be muscle sprain, but more severe the pain, the more likely there is to be a bony/jt component-either vertebral locking, si jt dysf, or even ligment tear.Find a good osteopathic manipulative med dr.Good history & osteopathic exam will likely find cause.Manipulation may help.
