Resume taking it: Folic acid is a component of prenatal and is known to decrease incidence of birth defect in women deficient in folic acids --unfortunately many people don't eat enough of green/leafy veggies (high folic acids). Iron/calcium r not that essential in early pregnancy because baby is still too little, but organ formation is important and thus should use folic acid. Resume it. Consult doc. Good luck.
