Linear vs cluster...: The classic flea bites are linear lesions known as "breakfast, lunch, & dinner" bites. This bite-jump-bite-jump-bite is characteristic of the flea. Whereas bed bug lesions tend to be more random or clustered in nature. Also think of fleas when furry pets are inside the home--or you moved into an apartment that previously had pets. Bedbugs tend to follow recent travel involving a stay in a hotel.

Bedbug and flea...: ...Bites come in clusters or "tracks" - could be on face, body, extremities; also they usually bite during sleep. Fleas are only a consideration if you have pets, though.

Bed bug bites may: Have no sx's/signs except for 2 small skin puncture points. A reaction may show from an hr to several days later. It can cause itchy, pink, swollen, lesions w clear center. If hypersensitive blisters may occur. Telltale sign is linear track of lesions from sequential feedings – doesn't always occur. Bites are in areas exposed while sleeping-arms, shoulders, neck ; legs. Flea bites may be clustered.
