Is chondromalcia not curable?

Not a disease: Chondromalacia is not a disease and thus there is no "cure." it is softening or wearing down of cartilage. Ask your doctor if he or she has identified the activities (if any) that may have caused the condition. When the joint hurts, rest it, apply ice, and take medications prescribed by your doctor.

There: Is nothing we have to grow cartilage right now. The only thing we do is smooth it out, microfracture bone to grow scar tissue (fibrocartilage), place cartilage plugs from other area into the lesion or replace the area in some form or fashion depending on where it is.
