Sugar in urine: Diabetes, if uncontrolled, can lead to higher amount of "sugar" spilling into the urine. Bacteria like sugar, thus they proliferate better when there is more sugar around. Diabetes also decrease the effectiveness of your immune system, leading to higher infection rate.

Sugar in urine +: Sugar in urine is more appealing to bacteria and gives them more nourishment to multiply. Diabetes can affect bladder nerve endings so that bladder emptying can be impaired.
