See below: Flu is usually accompanied by fever. Children often get hand, foot, & mouth disease caused by coxsackie a virus (characterized by blisters on hands, feet, & in mouth). Adults rarely get this form but may get type b of the virus that causes muscle aches (especially of chest wall), ± headache, ± fever; called devil's grippe or pleurodynia. Treat with nsaids & moist heat to muscles. Lasts about a wk.
