Common: get followup: Tonsils can often grow faster than a kid does until they are about 7-8 & any infections will add to the size. Snoring kids need to be monitored for sleep problems & occasionally will need a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea. If you hear gaps in the kids snoring of more that 15 sec, record it & see your pcp/ent about a study. This might need a little more time to improve but surgery may be needed.

Need them out: It is not normal for a 2 yr old to snore. It sounds like his tonsils are so large that he has a compromised airway, and possilbly sleep apnea as well. (can be very serious in growing children) see your pediatrician for a referral to an ENT or pulmonologist to consider if he is a condidate for tonsil removal.

Possible sleep apnea: Snoring can indicate not enough airway- does he grind his teeth? Make sure he gets a sleep test to rule out sleep apnea.
