Yes: The contaminants in cigarette smoke are a notorious cause of irritative inflammation of the nose. The more you smoke the worse it will be. Smoking may cause enough irritation of the lining of the nose to produce swelling and ultimately sinusitis. You would do well to try to stop smoking to prevent chronic changes in the nose.

Yes: Cigarettes contain toxins (like hydrogen cyanide, ammonia, arsenic etc.) which can paralyze cilia in the nose. This prevents cilia from sweeping bacteria, viruses, other particulates & excess mucus from the nose which leads to congestion. This can also cause irritation to mucosa.
