Possible pneumonia: The xray findings you describe are a radioogist's way of saying it's not certain, but its possible there is a small area of pneumonitis (pneumonia) on the xray. This doesn't mean your baby has pneumonia - your doctor will consider many other factors before concluding what this means.

Pneumonia is likely: If your infant had a chest x-ray because of respiratory symptoms the findings listed above are very consistent with a form of pneumonia and your pediatrician probably more fully evaluated your baby and placed him or her on antibiotics. If you infant has a heart murmur, then you also need to contact your pediatric cardiologist to determine if there is excess fluid in the chest.
