It only hydrates: It does not treat the infections.The d5nr IV solution is hypertonic solution with the following particular fluid composition: sodium – 140 meq/l, potassium – 5 meq/l, calcium 98 meq/l, lactate- 50 meq/l and dextrose- 250 mmol. Among all hypertonic solutions, d5nr IV solution contains the largest amount of lactate. D5nr IV solution is especially used for fluid resuscitation.
