Many: There are more resources than ever supporting growth emotionally and socially for those withpervasive developmental disorders - networking & medical information sites, organizations that give support to autism/aspergers spectrum disorders (nih, nimh & local medical societies), family and friends. All can lead to psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors & other specialists for direct hands on help.

Pediatrician: The american academy of pediatrics has developed guidelines for diagnosis and management of autism spectrum disorders. Applied behavioral analysis has been shown to be very effective. Appropriate referral can be coordinated by your pediatrician.

Aspergers: A licensed psychologist who runs social skills groups is the best way to go. Search for work done by jed baker online. He's awesome. Here is aspergers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg1ngp1ngds.

Neurodevelopmental: Behavior specialist. >>many w/asperger's/on autism spectrum have learned certain social skills -how 2greet ppl ; say please/thanks; how 2politely interrupt; etc. But many don't know how get close 2others ; build relationships which depends on reading others' feelings ; understanding their perspectives. More basically, many r not interested in relationships. Getting them interested = key goal!
