Inhibition.It is temporary with out serious consequences. , at age 7 that is not the problem, need work up from his pediatrician, to ped GI specialist , even at that age peptic ulcers are possible. Take him to his pediatrician first.

Possibly several: It sounds to me if there are a couple of possibilities. Possibly gluten, dairy or food tomato intolerance/allergy. In addition to this could just be gastritis from spicy food too. Keep a food diary more closely and see if a pattern emerges.

Not related: Lucey-driscoll deals with neonatal buildup of bilirubin. Food intolerance, luq pain, exacerbated when supine consistent with gerd &/or pud. Avoid trigger foods (spicy, acidic, caffeine, soda pop, fried/fatty/greasy foods); don't lie down for 30 minutes after eating; elevate head of bed. See pediatrician for evaluation & treatment options. Endoscopy may be needed.
