Infection: If they are boils it could be a staph infection. These usually require antibiotics. If they are lesions that are only red and itchy without any lesions that look like they have "pus" in them, it could be a fungal infection, that also requires an anti fungal treatment. Have him checked by his doctor, change his diaper frequently and keep the area clean.
