Keep trying: Sounds as if your doctor is trying the right approach to get a successful symptomatic result. Unfortunately for you, there is no cure for painful small-fiber peripheral neuropathy which is why your feet will continue feeling sore and stiff.

Neuropathy: Sounds like classic neuropathy, although it may also be an arthritic and circulatory disorder. Would benefit from finding out exact cause and if neuropathy, where is it coming from. If source can be addressed this might help more than pain medication. Have it checked by podiatrist and family physician.

I would try : And treat the etiology rather than mask the problem with pain killers. I would look at results of small nerve fiber biopsy to see the extent of the disease and plausibility of it being reversed. Metanx, neuremedy, Alpha lipoic acid are some of the nutritional supplements available to you. If they fail, topical capsaicin is an option. (google alan alda of mash fame with neuropathy/capsaicin.).
