Many ways: Using a pumice stone or callous file is best. Using an open razor blade leaves alot of injury risk. Use a good lotion daily to the area.

Pressure/friction: Are the cause of this. Sounds like a pressure or friction induced callus. If pressureand friction are lessened then it will resolve. Padding, cushioned inserts and shoes may help. Consult with podiatrist.

Callus Cause: A callus is formed from pressure and friction on an area of skin over a period of time. To stop the return of these one must find out where the callus skin is rubbing against something with pressure. Once this is removed there may be no more need to treat this condition.
