Rapid Transit: Bright green stool can be caused by many things but most of the time is due to the rapid movement of stool through the colon. The color of stool changes from green (bile) to yellow-brown as it passes through the colon. Any factor which leads to an increase passage of stools through the colon can prevent the change of coloring, hence the green stool. Ex: diarrhea after taking antibiotics.
