Read food labels: If sugar (or high fructose corn syrup or the like) is listed among the first 5 ingredients, there's probably quite a bit of it. The number of grams of carbohydrate can also be a clue. There are many foods now with sugar substitutes like stevia/splenda/equal/sorbitol/ xylol/erythritol.
