Many reasons: Double vision has many causes. The most common cause is eye fatigue in someone who has differing focal lengths in the two eyes. However, many other causes are possible, ranging from trivial to quite severe. If these episodes occur in the absence of eye overuse, get checked out by an ophthalmologist.
