Periodic fever synd.: If there's a true fever (> 38.3c) and infections and malignancies have been ruled out, we think of things like familial mediterranean fever, hibernian fever, hids, and pfapa. It can take many visits and even genetic testing before a diagnosis is found. Most syndromes usually present with other symptoms along with the fever (rash, joint ache, belly pain). Best wishes for you and your daughter.

Pediatric ID: There are numerous possible causes for fever of undetermined origin, among them juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Would strongly advise finding a pediatric infectious diseases doctor or a good pediatrician with an interest in infectious diseases. Good luck and happy new year.
