Fever in 13 month ol: A fever in the 100 range is not serious and is pretty common in young children after 6 months of age, when they have lost all the immunity they got from mom, and then get lots of infection. A single spike up to 102.7 is not concerning, but persistent fever at this level would be. As you guessed, hydration is most important and continuing to eat well, in which case you can continue to just observe.

Clear liquids : Monitor the temperature and provide Tylenol or Motrin for children to control the fever, clear liquids, applesauce and fruit ices may help to keep the baby hydrated. If there is a rash, fever for more than 3 days, red eyes or swelling, please see your Pediatrician right away. The baby should have a wet diaper every 6 hours, and please follow up with your Pediatrician.
