Polyhydramnios: Polyhydramnios is an over abundance of amniotic fluid. There are many causes including fetal anomalies, diabetes, and an unknown. A good ultrasound examining the fetus for abnormalities is indicated. Polyhydramnios does not usually cause hypertension in the mother. That is more commonly due to either underlying high blood pressure or developing pre-eclampsia.
