Half life 16hr: This bowel stimulant medication is metabolized in the body and roughly 1/2 is gone @ 16hrs with 1/2 the remaining med gone after another 16hr. The diarrhea effect is a listed side effect & varies per individual. As the medication level drops the stimulant effect will diminish. Some bulking food items like bananas, apples or pasta may help slow the diarrhea naturally.
