Poor function: Renal insufficiency is poor function of the kidneys which may be because of a reduction in blood-flow to the kidneys due to renal artery disease. Some pts with renal insufficiency have no symptoms or just mild symptoms while others develop dangerously high blood pressure, poor kidney function, or kidney failure which requires dialysis.
