Dark armpits or: Acanthosis nigricans can be associated with obesity or a number of endocrine disorders, including diabetes. Other symptoms of diabetes are frequent hunger & thirst & frequent urination; blurred vision, slow healing, burning/pins & needles sensation in feet/legs. See fp to be tested for diabetes so treatment can be begun before extensive damage occurs. If not dm, doc can check for other causes.

Go get tested: The best way to know if you have diabetes is to start with a fasting blood sugar test. If it is elevated then further testing can be done wagain in ith a glucose tolerance test - in which you drink a syrup an dthen your bs is tested at 1hr then 2hrs and it should be < 200. Also a 3 mnth avg bs test called a1c. Dark arm pits/neck & breast area is called acanthosis nigracans and can be assoc w dm.
