A member asked:

How come contacts cause eye dryness?

Not actually: Contacts float on a layer of tears. If the tear layer is deficient the contacts may bother the eye because the layer is too thin. So contacts can be a warning of low tear flow but do not actually cause the drop in tear flow.

Contacts dry eye: Contact do not cause dry eye. Your eyes feel dry if you have a decreased tear film because the contacts irritate the surface of the eye.
