No much needed: Usually patients are asked to have no breakfast in the morning of the procedure to avoid making viewing the kidneys affected by food and gas in the stomach. Also, should drink liquids if the imaging of the bladder will be done since expanding the bladder makes it better seen and examined. However, food does not hinder imaging the kidneys but makes pressing on abdomen during procedure uncomfortable.
