Can't say: However, Metronidazole is known to cause a reaction similar to antabuse (disulfiram). It is unclear if a topical preparation would have the same effect but i would not take a chance.

At your own peril...: Like trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole , Metronidazole and alcohol can cause a Disulfiram -like reaction similar the drug, Antabuse (disulfiram) - resulting in violent vomiting.
