Enlarged tongue: The tongue is a very interesting organ. It's really nothing more than a large muscle. It tends to accommodate whatever space it is given. It's size is related to your teeth and your bite. Large tongues are usually caused by a large open bite, where the tongue fills the space between the teeth, or also by having no teeth (edentulous) to contain the tongue. It can be corrected surgically.
