Probably not: Few adverse events to valerian have been reported. Large doses may result in stomach ache, apathy, and a feeling of mental dullness or mild depression. Tranquilizer properties may cause dizziness or drowsiness. In rare cases it may cause an allergic reaction. Central nervous system depression; should not use other depressants, such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, opiates.
