A spinal canal that: It is when the spinal canal is too narrow for the contents within it, the neural tissues: spinal cord, thecal sac & nerve roots. This leads to the compression of these structures which may or may not cause symptoms. There are several different types of spinal stenosis, congenital & acquired. The acquired is: degeneration, instability, fracture, cysts, herniation, tumor, fat, ligamentous.

Narrowing: Spinal stenosis is a narrowing or "pinching" of the nerve canal. The most common type of which is degenerative spinal stenosis, which is an arthritic aging irises and as such gets more and more common the older a person gets.
