Are there any suggestions for incision and drainage for absess tooth following a failed root canal?

Possibly: In the case of acute infection incision may be necessary. Typically antibiotics are used to try to prevent the spread.

Fast release of puss: When root canal fails and the abscess is causing a swelling in the soft tissue, in order to release the puss quickly dentist can numb the area and make an incision through the tissue and milk the puss and infection out. You should be placed on antibiotics and either the root canal can be redone or if hopeless needs to extract the tooth.
