How does one get rid of nit eggs?

Medicated treatments: Head lice make egg nits which attach themselves to the hair shafts quite tightly. Nits comb can help remove many but difficult to rid all. Shaving off the hair provides instant and complete removal, but not practical for most folks. So, better solution is use nix or rid shampoo (otc) or prescription strength permethrine, ovide, lindane, resultz, zilactin, natroba (spinosad) are better alternatives. Good luck.

Comb/vinegar: Once you have treated the hair with whatever product you use you need to comb out the nits with a fine tooth nit comb.These often come with the lice products.When there is a lot of hair, some find that soaking the bulk with vinegar helps "unglue" the nits from the hair so they come out easier. A stout pickling vinegar works best.
