How does one get rid of lice nits?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nit comb/vinegar: The nits (egg casings) are often hard to remove when a lice infestation is treated. Most otc products come with a fine tooth comb that helps. Another trick is soaking the hair in liberal amounts of vinegar. This weak acid seems to help dissolve the glue that holds the egg to the hair.
