CVS: Guess you are asking about chorionic villi sampling. The procedure involves an ultrasound exam, passing a catheter through the cervix (or a needle through the abdomen), and taking a very small sample of the placenta that will be tested by the lab and gives you the baby's chromosome make up like down syndrome, etc. The procedure has a ~1% risk of pregnancy loss. Hope this all is not too confusing.
