Healthy Snacks: For a treat, the sugar free options are best for candies etc. Beware "healthy" options like glazed fruits, which can contain as much sugar as candy. Some traditional holiday foods, like turkey, are actually quite well-suited for the diabetic. Finally, if there is a especially important treat, one-time moderate intake can be managed for almost any food.

What about a basket: With some really exotic fruits (like a pomegranate, a bell fruit, etc).

That's a hard one.: You know what? The foods we generally eat for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are laden with fat, cholesterol and sugar, so the holiday is just not good for diabetics. And quite frankly, from an emotional perspective, you don't want to be the only one not eating the food. Your best bet would be to enjoy sampling the foods - have a little bit of each, including the dessert. Just watch portions.
