Help w/ functioning: Ot's are a vital part of the best treatment teams. They assist patients with mental disorders in improving their functioning. Treatment is provided both individually and in groups. Psychiatric ot's tend to rely on a rehabilitation model. They address the significant functional impairment that accompanies so many mental disorders by re-engaging the patient in productive activities.
