Displaced Meniscus: Most likely a meniscus that is torn and flipped into the joint preventing the knee from moving. These tears are called bucket handle meniscus tears, and usually require urgent arthroscopic surgical intervention is needed. Other causes include a loose piece of cartilage/bone that could have broken off and caught in between the bones, and arthritis. If locking is frequent, see your orthopedist.
