Replace it : There are various types of temporary crowns. Some are more prone to absorb bacteria than others (relates to odors). You should mention your problem to the dentist that placed the temporary. When possible the temporary can be replaced with the permanent crown and the problem is solved. When the temporary needs to be retained for an extended period it may need to be remade.

Tell your dentist: There are many different brands and kinds of temporaries. Certain ones can taste and smell worse than others so talk to your dentist about it. Remember we don't necessarily place every type of temporary in our own mouths so this information may actually help your dentist in determining perhaps a different brand of temporary product.
