Melatonin, magnesium: My favorite supplements are melatonin (the "sleep" hormone produced by the brain's pineal gland--though less and less as we age), GABA (an "inhibitory" neurotransmitter that has a calming effect on the central nervous system), and magnesium (a "mineral" that the body craves--helpful for insomnia, generalized anxiety, musculoskeletal tension, rapid heart been, leg cramps, constipation, etc.).
