Dioxin exposure: The epa has set its threshold for safe dioxin exposure at a toxicity equivalence (teq) of 0.7 picograms per kg of body weight per day. Anything above that level can potentially have harmful effects. The epa further says findings show that generally, over a person's lifetime, current exposure to dioxins does not pose a significant health risk. Air levels of dioxin have dropped 90% since 1987.
