You can't: Injection of cortisone into keloid can shrinkage its size but not the total. However, surgery is not the answer either. It may cause a bigger keloid.

Combination therapy: Studies have generally shown that surgery alone doesn't work well. Keloids tend to come back. Combining treatments with surgery often show much better results. Depending on the location, we tend to use radiation treatments after surgical resection or injection of steroids after resection.
