Low muscle tone: Think 2 bungee cords, one that is firm & bounces back quick & another that is loose & barely has any bounce in it. You can tell when you feel the cord which is sturdier. When a persons muscle tone is low, you can feel it when you massage the muscle. They will often appear weaker & have problems with posture and alignment. The athlete with good muscle tone has firm mucles that react well.
