A member asked:

Are people with hypotonia hyperflexible?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on tendons: Most joints are stabilized by tendons, which both direct and limit the possible motions of the joint. Muscle tone can contribute to limitation of joint range of motion but hyperflexibility is dependent upon ligamentous laxity, not floppy muscles.
