Rare but possible: Repetitive motion has a poor correlation with carpal tunnel syndrome (cts), despite what most people believe. Cts occurs in the same population of people, regardless of occupation. There are some specific jobs such as a meat cutter or jobs which require use of vibratory tools. Acute onset of symptoms, after recently starting a job, does point to work associatd cts.
