Cancer of the lining: The one we think of most is called mesothelioma. Other cancers can affect the pleural surface, however, a primary pleural malignancy would be a mesothelioma. Hope this helps.

Mesothelioma: A nasty malignancy of the cells lining the chest (or abdominal) cavity, causes fluid build up, it is related to abestos exposure. Hard to detect early, few have good outlook with surgical removal.
